Privacy Policy

Glide is a local-first macOS application. We designed it so that your recordings stay on your Mac. This page explains, in plain language, what data Glide does and does not handle.

Your recordings stay on your device

Screen recording, auto-zoom, cursor smoothing, editing, and final export all happen locally on your Mac. Your video files, screenshots, and any on-screen content are never uploaded to Glide’s servers. We have no access to them.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your recordings, the contents of your screen, your keystrokes, or your files. Glide does not include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Polar, acting as our Merchant of Record. When you buy a Pro subscription or Lifetime license, Polar handles the payment and the billing information you enter goes to Polar, not to us. We receive only the information needed to grant and manage your license (for example, your license status and the email associated with the purchase). Software updates and license checks

To deliver Pro features, Glide validates your license key with Polar and may check for app updates. These requests transmit only the data needed to verify your license and version — never your recordings or screen content. Your license key activates Pro on a limited number of your own Macs.

Diagnostics

Glide may, optionally and only with your consent, send anonymous crash diagnostics to help us fix bugs. This never includes your recordings or screen content.

Data retention and your rights

Because your content never leaves your Mac, you remain fully in control of it — delete a recording and it is gone. For the limited license and purchase data held by us or by Polar, you may request access or deletion by emailing us. Polar processes payment data under its own privacy policy and applicable law (including GDPR/CCPA where relevant).
